C\u2019est l\u2019arriv\u00e9e de la route d\u00e9partementale n\u00b016 reliant Saint-Pierre-sur-Dives \u00e0 la mer via Pont-l\u2019\u00c9v\u00eaque qui a n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 l\u2019\u00e9dification, c\u00f4t\u00e9 rivi\u00e8re, d\u2019un mur de sout\u00e8nement en ma\u00e7onnerie de 450 m, achev\u00e9 en 1842 et d\u2019une largeur suffisante pour qu\u2019une premi\u00e8re poissonnerie y soit \u00e9difi\u00e9e un an plus tard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le quai de Trouville ne cessera d\u2019\u00eatre \u00e9largi par la suite, en gagnant sur la Touques. Mus\u00e9e Villa Montebello.&nbsp; <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/li><\/ul><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>La cr\u00e9ation de Deauville n\u00e9cessita la construction d\u2019un <strong>premier pont<\/strong>, dit \u00ab&nbsp;pont de l\u2019Union&nbsp;\u00bb, mis en service en octobre 1861, mais seulement termin\u00e9 en avril de l\u2019ann\u00e9e suivante, par la pose d\u2019une arche tournante c\u00f4t\u00e9 Trouville, qui permettait aux bateaux de remonter la rivi\u00e8re notamment jusqu\u2019\u00e0 Touques, port s\u00e9culaire du Pays d\u2019auge. Mus\u00e9e Villa Montebello.&nbsp; <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/li><\/ul><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-very-light-gray-background-color has-text-color has-background has-large-font-size\" style=\"color:#414d57\">The docks and the bridge<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-audio\"><audio controls src=\"http:\/\/www.trouville.fr\/mp3\/Histoire-maritime\/en\/02-La-Touques-le-pont.mp3\"><\/audio><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-very-light-gray-background-color has-background\">Before modern adaptations, ships would anchor on the riverbank, at the foot of the vestigial docks. Upon the arrival of the highway n.16, joining Saint-Pierre-sur-Dives with the ocean through Pont-l\u2019Ev\u00eaque, a supporting wall was needed along the river. The wall, measuring 450m was finished in 1842. The wall provided a width large enough for the first fish market to be built the following year.&nbsp;<br><br>The docks in Trouville would continue to be expanded throughout the following years, allowing it to gain on the river Touques. The first reconstruction would be from 1880 to 1881 and then a second reconstruction in 1936. These reconstructions would lead to the placement of a cement wharf, allowing for the construction of the main 4-way avenue, necessary because of the increased car-flow from 1999 to 2000.<br><br>With the arrival of the town of Deauville on the other side of the river, a bridge was needed \u2013 Pont de l\u2019Union (Union Bridge), started in October 1861 and finished in April 1862 with an arch permitting ships to travel up the river to Touques, a centuries-old port.
