{"id":7,"date":"2019-07-01T14:25:37","date_gmt":"2019-07-01T12:25:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rgldkus.cluster031.hosting.ovh.net\/Histoire-maritime\/?page_id=7"},"modified":"2022-03-23T11:46:17","modified_gmt":"2022-03-23T10:46:17","slug":"le-quernet","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/trouville.fr\/Histoire-maritime\/le-quernet\/","title":{"rendered":"Le Quernet et le parc aux huitres"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-audio\"><audio controls src=\"http:\/\/www.trouville.fr\/mp3\/Histoire-maritime\/fr\/01-Le-Quernet.mp3\"><\/audio><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-drop-cap has-very-light-gray-color has-text-color has-background has-medium-font-size\" style=\"background-color:#414d57\">Si le site a \u00e9t\u00e9 occup\u00e9 d\u00e8s la fin du N\u00e9olithique puis\npar un peuplement de M\u00e9rovingiens, l\u2019histoire de\nTrouville a v\u00e9ritablement commenc\u00e9, il y a plus de\nmille ans, le jour o\u00f9 le viking Thorulf a d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de\ns\u2019installer dans ce lieu, nomm\u00e9 en cons\u00e9quence\nThorulfvilla, vocable dans lequel il faut trouver\nl\u2019\u00e9tymologie de Trouville.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Le coeur de l\u2019antique village bat au pied du vallon abrit\u00e9 de Callenville<\/strong>, au creux duquel serpente le ruisseau qui, depuis les hauteurs, rejoint la Touques. Il ne reste plus rien des masures au toit de chaume qui s\u2019\u00e9taient group\u00e9es dans ce quartier du Quernet, autour de la premi\u00e8re \u00e9glise paroissiale Saint-Jean-Baptiste, \u00e9rig\u00e9e probablement aux XI\u00e8me-XII\u00e8me si\u00e8cles et r\u00e9duite de nos jours \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tat de chapelle. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aujourd\u2019hui l\u2019appellation d\u2019une rue conserve la m\u00e9moire d\u2019un <strong>Parc aux hu\u00eetres<\/strong>, \u00e9tabli en mars 1840 par un nomm\u00e9 Estienne, \u00ab ancien notaire et riche capitaliste de Paris \u00bb. Par la suite, ce parc fut exploit\u00e9 par une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 qui l\u2019approvisionnait avec des hu\u00eetres provenant de Cancale. Mus\u00e9e Villa Montebello. <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/li><\/ul><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-very-light-gray-background-color has-text-color has-background has-large-font-size\" style=\"color:#414d57\">The Quernet and the oyster park<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-audio\"><audio controls src=\"http:\/\/www.trouville.fr\/mp3\/Histoire-maritime\/en\/01-Le-Quernet.mp3\"><\/audio><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-very-light-gray-background-color has-background\">Trouville may have been occupied since the prehistoric days of the Neolithic Age, followed by the occupation by the Merovingian\u2019s, but the town\u2019s real history begins over a thousand years ago; It begins the day the Viking Thorulf decided to settle down, giving to the village the name Thorulfvilla \u2013 hence today\u2019s Trouville. The epicenter of the old village is found at the base of a valley of Callenville. It\u2019s through this valley that a stream flows, later joining the river Touques. Today, there is nothing left of the old thatched- roof houses that were agglomerated around the Quernet neighborhood, around the first parish church (Saint-Jean-Baptiste, dating from the XI- XII centuries), turned chapel today. <br><br>Today, the memory of the oyster park is kept by the street with the same name: Rue de l\u2019Ancien Parc aux Hu\u00eetres. This oyster park was established in March of 1840, by a Parisian notary by the name of Estienne. The park was used by the locals with oysters collected from Cancale, a town in the French region of Brittany. In 1847, Trouville would receive 4 to 500,000 oyster deliveries each month and the ship Cancalaise would deliver 20 to 30,000 shipments to Paris.
