Archives priv\u00e9es. <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/li><\/ul><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-very-light-gray-background-color has-text-color has-background has-large-font-size\" style=\"color:#414d57\">Old Shipyard\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-audio\"><audio controls src=\"http:\/\/www.trouville.fr\/mp3\/Histoire-maritime\/en\/04-Le-Chantier-naval.mp3\"><\/audio><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-very-light-gray-background-color has-background\">At low tide, we can see old rails left from an old loading dock on the bank of the Touques: these are the only traces left of an entire naval yard industry that was once booming in Trouville. It was known for the production of a type of wooden sailboat \u2013 a chalutier \u2013 measuring 16m-18m. <br><br>The shipyard was started by Bernard Macario in October 1921 not to only build fishing boats but also yachts and small regatta sailboats, like the famous Dragons or Requins. <br><br>The shipyard continued to function after Macario\u2019s death in 1961 under multiple successors. In 1986 Deauville Shipyard had specialized itself in reparations and naval maintenance for the 40 ships docked in Trouville and including Honfleur, Dives or le Havre. <br><br>In June of 2008, the shipyard -already in financial difficulty- the shipyard lost its permit and land.
